We have patients that come to us from all areas of Columbus and the surrounding area stretching from east around Cambridge, north to Mansfield, west to Findlay, south to Springfield, to east again to Chillicothe, and southeast to Athens. Our regional clinics in Dayton, Ohio and Huntington, West Virginia bring patients from those cities and the surrounding areas.
SMGOA treats a wide array of patients involved in all sports and from all walks of life. We treat athletes. ranging from professional hockey and football players, to college and high school superstars, to junior high athletes, and weekend warriors. We treat all these athletes, but we also specialize in treating active adults and individuals from all walks of life with sports-type injuries or other orthopaedic injuries, conditions or disorders. Our senior patient population is an every growing part of our practice as more and more patients are seeking relief of years of pain, discomfort and disability due to orthopaedic and arthritic conditions and disorders.

OUR difference is our approach to the diagnosis, treatment and recovery of the injury. We look at each injury in a similar way with all our patients...we want to fix the problem and help them reach their goal of returning to whatever level of activity they desire as quickly as possible.
We do this with a combination of conservative care when necessary and aggressive care when possible. This approach works well with our high school, college and professional athletes and we feel we can use it with just about anyone with appropriate safe guidelines.

The board certified and fellowship trained physicians and staff at SportsMedicine GRANT & Orthopaedic Associates work together as a team of highly trained specialists dedicated to the complete care of sports-related and orthopaedic injuries by offering a comprehensive program of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
Our continually growing team of experts includes physicians who specialize in orthopaedic surgery and primary care sports medicine, as well as a therapy staff of physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, certified and licensed athletic trainers and licensed massage therapists.  They are all specialty trained in sports medicine and work together to offer our patients the best in diagnostics, treatment, surgery and rehabilitation.
They evaluate and treat adolescents with the goal of returning them to their particular sports as quickly and safely as possible.  The experience and knowledge of the physicians helps them develop a comprehensive and progressive treatment and rehabilitation plan.  This plan incorporates the use of formal physical therapy and a home exercise plan for the best overall results and outcomes. 
Our key is the specialized approach we take in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of these injuries and conditions.   We treat many injuries in the same way that we treat the injuries of prolific athletes, just on a toned-down manner, carefully developed for each individual.  Much of our practice is treating non-athletes who want specialized care and treatment similar to what we provide the professional, collegiate and high school athletes.
We also rely on the expertise of certified and licensed athletic trainers (ATC’s) whenever possible.  When an ATC works with athletes from a specific school or team, we provide instructions for them to outline and carry out rehabilitation programs at the high school or given setting.  This is a very vital and helpful part of the recovery and care of many athletes.
